Looking to reach ISO 9001:2000 or ISO 20000:1 registration is often a grueling process. This is especially true when basic production procedures are not there. Our experience is that there are many advisors for the Standard and consultants who will tell you what the Standard expects from you. Our focus is in assisting your team in the ‘down and ugly’ procedure documentation; examining your company production areas and determining the gaps and then assisting your team in filling those gaps.
If you are seeking ISO registration, your documentation needs to be there but it also needs to mold to the various standards. There is a “Standards Vocabulary” which often needs to be embedded into, not only your documents, but your employees—another way of thinking.
Our
experience is that the initial presentation of ISO Standards to employees is
paramount. Often employees think of
ISO Standards as being ‘one more task’ added to their already heave loads.
It is imperative that employees are presented with two significant
perspectives: 1) The ISO Standard
does not lay on top of a procedure but is embedded into it and 2) Once embedded
(although there is great effort in getting there), the Standard will enhance the
organization and the people who work it.
The engineers and technical
gurus in your organization do not always write to the common denominator, i.e.,
they write for other technical people. We
provide on-line editing of documents where you need the Vice President to
understand, in his language, what the engineers propose.
Business writing is often inefficient. Believing that simple sentences are unbecoming, even high level business professionals make the mistake of rambling writing. These are sentences that never seem to get to the point. Using too many adjectives and, even more offensive, too many adverbs, creates tiresome, inefficient correspondence.
Application development and
changes are rapid. User
documentation is often slow and unsynchronized.
There is really not an easy solution to this problem.
We can augment your in-house technical writing department with initial
user documentation or updates to existing user documents
Resumes
require smooth no-nonsense writing. Writers
of resumes need to imagine themselves being on the other side of the document.
Cut the fat and when you believe you have trimmed it to the bone, begin
trimming again. We can help you with
the trimming on line.
